Traditionally good quality pearl necklaces and bracelets are strung on silk thread, silk is a lovely material, perfect for the job, but over time with wear the silk thread may stretch or get discoloured, this will result in the need for your precious pearls to be restrung by our expert stringer.

Additionally we can restring common brands such as Links of London, Tiffany and Thomas Sabo, and many more.

 Why have a valuation?

Valuations are mostly carried out for insurance purposes as over a certain value may require a written valuation document to hand to your insurance company. Should you make a purchase from Hamilton- Hughes Goldsmiths, we will provide that documentation to you free of charge upon request. However, there are also many other reasons to get your items professionally valued including probate or validating a private sale.

My service

Once we receive your item(s) we will start the detailed valuation process, where our expert will carefully examine each piece to ensure an accurate valuation is given.  We will clean, polish and check the mount, setting and claws of rings and other items as required. Each item will be photographed and a detailed description given, including a new replacement value at today’s rate.
